My name is Mike Reynolds . I started Troubleshoot Appliances after a $400 repair bill for a dishwasher problem that turned out to be a clogged filter — a five-minute fix I could have done myself if I’d found a clear guide online.
That experience frustrated me enough to start writing the guides I wished existed. Since then I’ve researched and documented solutions for hundreds of appliance problems across washing machines, dryers, HVAC systems, refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, and water heaters.
My goal is simple: give you the same fix a technician would charge you $150 to diagnose — for free, in plain English, in under 10 minutes.
Every guide on this site is written from real troubleshooting research, cross-referenced against manufacturer documentation and repair manuals. I don’t publish vague advice. If I can’t explain exactly what causes a problem and exactly how to fix it, I don’t publish it.
If you have a question about a specific appliance issue, use the search bar or browse by appliance category. Chances are the fix is simpler than you think.
